Why review before your deal ends

When a fixed or tracker deal ends, most lenders move you onto their standard variable rate, which is usually higher. Many lenders let you secure a new deal several months before your current one ends, so it pays to start early.

We compare the new deal your current lender offers with the rest of the market, and arrange whichever works out better for you.

  • Review before your current deal ends
  • Your lender’s offer compared with the whole market
  • Deals only available through brokers
  • Borrowing more for home improvements
  • Moving from interest-only to repayment
  • Moving from a specialist lender to mainstream rates
No broker fee for like-for-like remortgages. If you’re remortgaging with the same amount of borrowing, we don’t charge a fee.

Questions about remortgaging

When should I start looking?

Get in touch as soon as you know when your current deal ends. Many lenders allow you to secure a new deal several months in advance.

Should I just take my current lender’s offer?

Sometimes it’s the best option, but you can’t be sure until it’s compared with the rest of the market. We’ll tell you honestly either way.

Can I borrow more when I remortgage?

Often, yes, subject to the lender’s affordability checks and the value of your home. Borrowing more isn’t a like-for-like remortgage, so a fee may apply. We’ll confirm it before we start.

Can I add other debts to my mortgage?

It’s possible, but it isn’t always the right choice. Spreading short-term debt over a mortgage term can mean paying more interest overall. We’ll go through the pros and cons with you.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
